ANNUAL RUN TO CRUSH HUNGER UPDATE
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for being part of the Red Gold Run to Crush Hunger over the years. Your participation—whether you ran, walked, volunteered, or cheered others on—has helped make this event truly special. Because of people like you, together we have raised more than $860,000, providing over 3.4 million meals to families in need through local food banks. That impact is something to be incredibly proud of.
After carefully reviewing runner participation trends and overall event engagement, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the run. While this marks the end of the Red Gold Run to Crush Hunger, it does not reflect a step back from our commitment to the community. Giving back remains a core value for Red Gold.
We will continue to support meaningful causes, including our partnership with Folds of Honor, an organization that provides educational scholarships for the children and spouses of fallen or disabled American military service members and first responders. We are also exploring new community-focused initiatives where we can continue to make a lasting and meaningful difference.
We are deeply grateful for your involvement, enthusiasm, and generosity over the years. Thank you for helping make the Red Gold Run to Crush Hunger such a powerful and impactful event. We look forward to sharing what’s next and hope you’ll join us in future community initiatives.
You can still join us for the 38th Annual Red Gold Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, October 10th 2026 here in Elwood, IN. This annual event will feature the unique chili recipes of over 20 competition teams in addition to fall crafts, baked goods, live entertainment, and a visit by the Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders & their mascot, Blue. There will also be a Beer & Wine Garden which will showcase top locally-brewed craft beers and wines for those who are 21 years of age and older. We hope to see you there!
